FAQ:
"For Christmas I got a Canon Vixia HF S200. I have been getting a lot of video and now I want to edit them in Windows Movie Maker. Now, for some reason… It seems that I can’t edit the video in MTS mode. Why is that? Is there ANY easy or free way that I can convert the mts files to avi? So any help would be great! Thanks."
Explain:
Canon Vixia HF S200 has the Exclusive 1/2.6″ 8.59MP HD CMOS Image Sensor that captures video at 1920 x 1080 resolution and photos with astonishing detail. Exceptionally life-like tone and detail are captured thanks to 24Mbps Recording, which offers the highest bit rate in AVCHD. The Vixia HF S200 records and outputs at 1920 x 1080 as well, so you get Full HD from lens to screen.
Video editing software like Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas etc always works well with AVI, WMV, MPG etc common video formats, but not AVCHD.
