Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 first impression review

Apple’s iPad2 shot to instant success when it was released last year, prompting a quick reply from competitors like Samsung. Apple’s success defined consumer expectations for what a tablet computer would look and feel like. Samsung has taken Apple’s template and added its own flavor to it; keeping the iPad2′s 10-inch display and glossy black bezel, but covering the rear of the device with a textured plastic and molded this grip to best fit your fingers when holding the tablet in landscape view.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Detailed information about Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Width in inches: 10.1

Height in inches:6.9

Weight in pounds: 1.24

Depth in inches: 0.34

Side bezel width in inches : 0.8

Maximum black level: 0.30 cd/m2

Default black level: 0.30 cd/m2

Default contrast ratio: 1,120:1

Contrast ratio: 1,120:1

Maximum brightness: 336 cd/m2

Default brightness: 336 cd/m2

Like1: It’s Lighter

Though noticeably longer than the iPad2, the Galaxy’s 16:9 screen makes it a good bit narrower than the iPad2. However the real reason the Tab feels so much lighter is the plastic back. The iPad2′s is all aluminum. When it comes to mobile devices, lighter is always better.

Like2: Flash that Works

Sure, I had to download and install Adobe Flash 10.3, but once I did, it worked perfectly. That’s a trick not even the iPad2 can accomplish.

Like3: The Screen

I have no issues with the iPad or iPad2 screen, but the Galaxy’s combination of higher resolution (1,280-by-800 versus the iPad’s 1,024-by-768) and 16:9 aspect ratio, 10.1-inch screen makes everything from games to videos look fantastic. I did, however, have to override the automatic brightness settings, which left the screen too dim for my tastes.

The bad: The lack of ports on the tablet will be a problem for some and the plastic back leaves it feeling less solid than the iPad 2, no mini-USB or microSD card slot, honeycomb app selection still trails iOS, camera quality isn’t great.

Overall

With Google’s Honeycomb in place, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v is an outstanding device for personal media and web consumption. There isn’t much Samsung can do about the sub-par app support for Android tablet so far (but this is bound to improve), though we do think not including HDMI or DLNA in the out-of-the-box experience is missing a trick, to say the least. On top of this, the lack of micro SD card support and a user-replaceable battery isn’t going to win favor from those who refuse to buy an iPad2 for the same reasons.

Then, If you are a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 user and just want to watch or play Panasonic camcorder various videos on it, just convert Panasonic video to MP4 mac for importing to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.  Panasonic video to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 converter for mac is an useful tablet video converter, which can convert almost video formats such as AVHCD, MTS, M2TS, MOD, TOD, 3GP, 3G2,AVI, WMV,MOV,VOB, DV, RM, RMVB, FLV, MKV to the tablet accepted video format MP4 etc with super fast converting speed and high output quality.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II VS Nikon D700

"Which camera is better, Nikon D700 or Canon EOS 5D Mark II? I'm into shooting Fashion and Wedding Photography. I also love night photography so I need something that will be better for what I would like to shoot. Once you tell me what camera is best for what I would like to shoot please provide lenses that will work in night."

Pros of 5D Mark II (my opinion)
- 7 more megapixels – when cropping or printing large, you’re gonna love it
- Video. Supports record HD video, every wedding photograph will like it.
- Higher resolution and the professional flexible movie recording capabilities (23.976 fps, 24fps, 25fps, 29.97 fps, 30fps; also external mic input).

Pros of D700
- More AF points and faster
- Faster frame rate
- Accuracy and flexibility, ergonomics, and metering system.

Both have very low noise and ISO 25600 max. Both have excellent image quality. Both are not the best for fast subject tracking. A Nikon D3 or a Canon 1D/1Ds would be better for sports.

I would go with the 5D Mark II if I already have EF lenses and I would like to do some movies with fast prime lenses. Also the 5D II is better for landscape due to higher resolution. However, if I was planning to do pro shooting on wedding or any other events, I would prefer the D700 due to better AF system and easier metering system.

Now let us read some specs. of Canon SLR EOS 5D Mark II and Nikon DSLR D700:

Review Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder

The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 is the first serious 3D camcorder for consumers, and it performs its job commendably. Simply attach the 3D Conversion Lens to the SDT750 for quick and easy 3D shooting. True-to-life 3D images like those created by Panasonic 3D recording technologies for use in Hollywood movies can now be easily recorded and viewed at home.

Panasonic HDC-SDT750

Panasonic HDC-SDT750 key features highlight:

1. 3D features

The key is a separate 3D conversion lens that threads (rather awkwardly) onto the camcorder. The 3D images recorded with the SDT750 can be easily played back by connecting the SDT750 to a 3D compatible TV, such as a VIERA 3DTV

2. 5.1-Channel Surround Sound System

The SDT750 is equipped with five electrets condenser microphones. The center mic helps capture the sound source and distance accurately, so you get a more 3-dimensional effect than you get with conventional systems, which capture all of the sound from the front. This lets you enjoy dynamic sound together with the lifelike 3D images.

3. Advanced 3MOS System

The high-sensitivity 3MOS System has 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 megapixels x 3). This advanced image sensor separates the light received through the lens into the three primary colors — red, green and blue — and processes each color independently.

4. 1080/60p Recording (Full-HD 1920 x 1080, 60 Progressive Recording

The HD Panasonic SDT750 uses the progressive method to record twice as much image data as the interlace method. Plus, the 60 Progressive Recording of the SDT750 produces 60 images per second.

5. Touch Screen Operation

The SDT750 features a touch screen that allows icons displayed on the LCD to be easily operated by touching them with a fingertip. The touch screen lets users operate a variety of functions intuitively without taking their eyes off of the subject on the LCD.

6. 18x Intelligent Zoom

The HDC-SDT750 features a 12x optical zoom and an Intelligent Zoom function that goes all the way up to 18x.

7. Wind Noise Canceller

The technology of the previous Wind Cut function has evolved to form the Wind Noise Canceller. The new function automatically detects and suppresses only wind noise, to give you natural sounds with lifelike ambience.

8. 35mm Wide-Angle Lens

The 35mm wide-angle lens on the HDC-SDT750 fits more people and more of the background into the frame than a conventional 44.9mm lens. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room.

Reviews:

The good:

It has many features usually found on Professional models but when you connect the supplied 3-D attachment the buck stops here, or should I say the value. When shooting 3-D you do not have HD-1080P. In fact, shooting in 3:2 instead of 16:9 which means the High Definition quality is gone and you have a black border surrounding the screen. 3D film-making is no longer the preserve ofHollywood, an excellent 2D Full HD cam to boot

The bad

As for the Panasonic, it does not shoot still photos at all in any format with the 3-D attachment. The 3D conversion lens is bulky, no zoom or auto-functions in 3D mode, high price premium for stereoscopy.

Quick verdict:

Whether viewed as the harbinger of a new era of creative 3D, or merely a gimmicky one-off, the Panasonic HDC-SDT750 gets two thumbs up. The ability to shoot in 3D may come with a hefty price premium (at the moment) and suffers technical limitations but the results are undeniably compelling. Its side-by-side 3D images have tangible depth, making stereoscopic home movies a lot more fun to watch than the likes of Yogi Bear 3D. As a Full HD 2D cam it’s also a peach.

Conclusion:

The dual images are recorded side-by-side into a single frame of AVCHD. This is one of the standard formats for 3D, and the main one currently supported by 3D-capable HDTVs. However, If you want to import this Panasonic AVCHD video to Apple editing application such as Panasonic HDC-SDT750 to iMovie, Panasonic HDC-SDT750 to FCP, Panasonic HDC-SDT750 to FCE etc, here, Mac Panasonic HDC-SDT750 video converter, with simple and intuitive interface, you can easily jump right into converting Panasonic HDC-SDT750 video.

The comparison between Panasonic 3D HDC-SDT750 and Panasonic HDC-SD700 camcorder

The HDC-SDT750, Panasonic’s first domestic 3D camcorder,  is an adaptation of the previously available HS700, but with newly-minted removable 3D lens appendage. It records 3D video using the side-by-side technique (960 x 1080), so footage lacks the resolution possible from 3D Blu-ray, but the clarity is more than enough to create an engaging 3D viewing experience.

Panasonic 3D camcorder

Panasonic’s new HDC-SD700 provides an option of 1080 progressive recording for extremely beautiful images. 1080/50p recording (Full-HD 1920 x 1080, 50 progressive recording) in these high-end models produces richly expressive images, with maximum line resolution and smooth motion.

Full-HD 1920 x 1080p movies that are recorded with the HDC-SD700 can be viewed in all their original beauty on the large screen of any VIERA TV with 1080p playback compatibility by simply connecting the camcorder to the VIERA via HDMI input.
